一、教材分析
整個(gè)單元以談?wù)摗吧铡睘橹骶�(xiàn)，將12個(gè)月份的名稱(chēng)、序數詞的學(xué)習融入到一系列的小任務(wù)中，學(xué)生通過(guò)詢(xún)問(wèn)對方的生日來(lái)完成一個(gè)最終的目標，即學(xué)會(huì )應用日期的表達方法。其中Section A 主要以When is your birthday?為線(xiàn)索，重點(diǎn)呈現日期的表達，包括12個(gè)月份的名稱(chēng)及序數詞的學(xué)習。第二部分擴展到When is Nick's birthday? 繼續學(xué)習與鞏固日期的表達法，最后以“The Birthday Game”結束。所以A部分的教學(xué)設計以循序漸進(jìn)的教學(xué)方法，兼顧了聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫(xiě)各種能力的培養，但重點(diǎn)放在聽(tīng)和說(shuō)上。Section B是在已有的基礎上拓展和延伸。如：When is the school trip? 同時(shí)從聽(tīng)說(shuō)訓練轉向讀寫(xiě)能力的培養上。Self check是課后的自我檢測，首先是對本單元所學(xué)字匯的檢測，其次是文化知識的拓展，了解一些國內外名人的生日等。
二、教學(xué)目標
1、語(yǔ)言知識目標
a、掌握十二個(gè)月份的名稱(chēng)、序數詞1到31的表達法、單詞date, happy, age, old, birthday, party, trip, art, festival, Chinese, music, year，了解speech, contest, how, old, basketball, game, volleyball, game, school day, year old及八個(gè)人名。
b、熟練掌握并應用下列句型：
When is your birthday? My birthday is … / It’s …
When is Vera’s birthday? Vera’s birthday is … / It’s …
及擴展句型 How old are you? I am thirteen.
2、能力目標
能用所學(xué)到的語(yǔ)言知識與實(shí)際生活結合起來(lái)，使學(xué)習過(guò)程生活化。
3、情感目標
培養學(xué)生積極主動(dòng)的學(xué)習心理狀態(tài)，調動(dòng)學(xué)習內驅力，通過(guò)兩人對話(huà)、小組活動(dòng)、查詢(xún)一些名人的生日等一系列活動(dòng)，培養學(xué)生的交際能力和學(xué)習主動(dòng)性。
三、教學(xué)思路
1． 以問(wèn)句When is your birthday?為線(xiàn)索引出單詞12個(gè)月份、序數詞（first ~thirty-first）的學(xué)習。
2． 通過(guò)pairwork、groupwork、writing等形式使學(xué)生熟練運用關(guān)于“日期”的問(wèn)答。
3、時(shí)間安排：本單元分四課時(shí)，具體如下：
Period 1:Section A: 1a, 2a, 1b, 1c
Period 2: Section A: 2b, 2c, 2d; Self Check 3
Period 3: Section A: 3a, 3b; Section B: 1, 2a, 2b

Step 1: Warming up

Step 2: Presentation
T: When is my birthday? My birthday is March 12th. And when is your birthday? You may answer it in Chinese.（引出12個(gè)月的單詞的教學(xué)，可用12個(gè)月的圖片或幻燈片進(jìn)行教學(xué)。）
T: There are 12 months in a year. They are January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.（逐個(gè)教學(xué)后，然后聽(tīng)、跟讀 ,直到學(xué)生能流利地朗讀。）
生日除了講月外，還要有具體的幾號，我們已經(jīng)學(xué)過(guò)基數詞one, two, three 到thirty-one。那么我們是否就用這些基數詞呢？No.我們還有把這些數詞稍微改變一下。然后引出序數詞的學(xué)習，教學(xué)日期的表達法。
a 復習from one to thirty-one。
b 教學(xué)序數詞，再教學(xué)生幾句基數詞變序數詞的幾句口訣，以便學(xué)生記憶。
基變序，有規律，
第一、二、三單獨記。
-th 從四加起，
八去t來(lái)九去e。
遇到ve, f替，
-ty變?yōu)閠ie,
后跟-th莫遲疑。
若想表示幾十幾，
只變個(gè)位就可以。

One may go out of your seat to interview anyone you like, Then do a report.（做這個(gè)task課堂看上去會(huì )有些亂，但學(xué)生們喜歡這種活動(dòng)，會(huì )激起他們說(shuō)的欲望。）

3 查尋Self check 3里人物的出生日期
（課后反思：1、這節課的詞匯容量比較大，12個(gè)月份的單詞也比較難記，對于基礎較薄弱的學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)全部掌握有一定困難，但是假如他們記住了自己出身的月份，家人出身的月份及好朋友出身的月份，那么對于他們來(lái)說(shuō)目的也就達到了。2、我把1-31序數詞的學(xué)習也放在這節課里，因為基數詞1-31剛在前一個(gè)單元學(xué)過(guò)，所以對學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)困難不會(huì )很大。3、對學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)在一節課內要把月、日流利的說(shuō)正確可能回有一定的困難，主要是學(xué)生會(huì )經(jīng)常把“日”的表達用基數詞。）

假如有人今天正好過(guò)生日，我們大家為他/她唱生日歌并送他/她一樣禮物，但課前要準備好。

（課后反思：這節課仍舊繼續前兩節課的主題，但擴充了句型：How old are you? I am fifteen. 這個(gè)句型對學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)很容易，因為他們在小學(xué)時(shí)就很熟練。2、Section B的2b，填寫(xiě)喬的日歷，因為有些詞匯是新的，一下子從學(xué)、聽(tīng)到寫(xiě)，對一些接受能力慢的學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)可能有一定困難，可以讓學(xué)生用標號的辦法來(lái)做，以降低難度。）

（課后反思：1、這是這個(gè)單元的最后一課時(shí)，從前面所學(xué)的When is your birthday? 到這堂課要問(wèn)到的When is the school trip ? 對學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)接受起來(lái)是不難的。 2、至于3b里的這個(gè)對話(huà)Do you have …? Yes, I do. No, I don’t. 在Unit5已經(jīng)學(xué)過(guò)，但有些學(xué)生會(huì )不是很熟練，通過(guò)對話(huà)也可以得到一次復習 。3、課后寫(xiě)一寫(xiě)自己或家人的一些情況 ，目的是把學(xué)的東西落實(shí)到筆頭，應用到實(shí)際生活，估計學(xué)生在書(shū)寫(xiě)中還會(huì )出現一些書(shū)寫(xiě)上的錯誤，如日期的書(shū)寫(xiě)等。）
