Help students to revise words that is learnt in Period One of this module by answering questions:
1. Who was your favorite teacher in Junior High?
2. What adjectives will you use to describe your favorite teacher in Junior High?
Ⅱ. Pre-reading activities
Lead in the study of the text by carrying out the following activities.
1.What adjectives will you use to describe me –- your new English teacher? What about other teachers?
(Ask students to speak out as many words as they can)
2. Look at the pictures. What are your first impressions of the three teachers? (Prediction)
(Ask students to write down the adjectives and check with their partners)

點(diǎn)評：本課突出了第二模塊中的閱讀文章。首先，文章中將要使用的詞匯通過(guò)學(xué)生的口語(yǔ)活動(dòng)得以復習鞏固，為下一步的閱讀任務(wù)做好了準備；接著(zhù)，以看圖預測的方式導入閱讀活動(dòng)，使學(xué)生能夠較快地進(jìn)入角色，開(kāi)始積極地快速閱讀，檢測自己的預測。完成閱讀后的任務(wù)練習題豐富、多樣并具有一定的拓展性，很好地發(fā)掘了學(xué)生的語(yǔ)言潛能，同時(shí)培養了學(xué)生對教師的情感認識；也對教師本身有所啟發(fā)。在學(xué)生對閱讀文章已形成一個(gè)整體認識，建立語(yǔ)篇意向之后，再進(jìn)行比較詳細的句意分析，保證了大部分學(xué)生都能讀懂文章。最后，總結性地鞏固了該課中心詞匯，并通過(guò)應用這些詞匯讓學(xué)生復述課文，從而有效地培養了學(xué)生口語(yǔ)表達能力。課后練習的處理也很合理，將課文中的練習同活動(dòng)用書(shū)的練習一起當作作業(yè)來(lái)安排，就為課堂教學(xué)節約出時(shí)間來(lái)。
