教材分析:本課是新目標英語(yǔ)九年級第八單元第二課時(shí)。本單元圍繞I'll help clean up the city parks開(kāi)展多種教學(xué)活動(dòng),讓學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì )用I'll help do sth.句型來(lái)回答別人的詢(xún)問(wèn)和告訴別人自己幫助他人的經(jīng)歷。本課時(shí)是關(guān)于volunteers的一個(gè)閱讀材料,是一節閱讀與口語(yǔ)課,是在學(xué)習了幫助他人的方式和大量的聽(tīng)力訓練后展開(kāi)教學(xué)的。通過(guò)鞏固上課所學(xué)的短語(yǔ)并進(jìn)行會(huì )話(huà)練習,使學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì )給他人提供幫助,通過(guò)閱讀訓練,進(jìn)一步加深對目標語(yǔ)言的理解和運用。

學(xué)生分析:初三學(xué)生正處于感性向理性的轉型期,求知欲和表現參與意識很強,有一定的邏輯分析能力,同時(shí)也需要教師的積極引導。

教學(xué)目標:

1.知識目標:

a.掌握詞匯:major, commitment, veterinarian, home to, several

hours a week, after-school care center, put ... to good use,

spend time doing sth., not only ... but also ...

b.掌握句型:You could help coach a soccer team. Being a volunteer is great. Not only do I feel good about helping other people, but I get to spend time doing what I love to do.
