1. What's the date today ? 今天是幾號？What is / was the date ...?這一句型意為"......是幾號？"常用來(lái)詢(xún)問(wèn)某一天是幾月幾日。
2. It's very cold, but quite sunny. 天氣非常冷，但十分晴朗。sunny是形容詞，意為"晴朗的；陽(yáng)光充足的",是由sun雙寫(xiě)n再加 -y構成的。英語(yǔ)中許多名詞后加 -y可構成形容詞。如：cloud(云)- cloudy(多云的)，rain(雨)-rainy(多雨的)，wind(風(fēng))-windy(多風(fēng)的), snow(雪)-snowy(多雪的)，health(健康)-healthy(健康的), sleep(睡覺(jué))-sleepy(瞌睡的), noise(吵鬧聲)-noisy(喧鬧的)等。
3. Bruce rings up his father in Sydney, Australia. 布魯斯在澳大利亞的悉尼給父親打電話(huà)。ring up sb 意為"打電話(huà)給某人"。ring up 屬于"及物動(dòng)詞+副詞"構成的動(dòng)詞短語(yǔ)，人稱(chēng)代詞賓格作其賓語(yǔ)時(shí)要放在動(dòng)詞與副詞之間。如：Please ring me up this evening. 今晚請給我打電話(huà)。
4. Hello!Dad? This is Bruce. 喂!爸爸嗎？我是布魯斯。用英語(yǔ)打電話(huà)時(shí)說(shuō)"我是某人"，不能說(shuō)"I'm..."而要說(shuō)"This is..."或"This is...speaking."或"...speaking."
5. There will be a strong wind to the north of the Huai River. 淮河以北將有大風(fēng)。There be結構的將來(lái)時(shí)態(tài)是There will be...或There is going to be...如：There will be a class meeting this afternoon. 今天下午有班會(huì )。
6. The temperature will stay above zero in the daytime, but at night it will fall below zero again.在白天氣溫會(huì )保持在零度以上，可是在晚上氣溫又會(huì )降到零度以下。in the daytime意為"在白天"，也可以說(shuō)in the day; at night意為"在晚上"，而in the night意為"在夜間"。注意這些習慣表達。
7. The snow will be very heavy in some places. 在一些地方雪會(huì )下得很大。表示雨大、雪大的"大"要用heavy,表示風(fēng)大的"大"要用strong，不能一看到"大"就用big。
8. The radio says the snow will stop later in the day. 收音機說(shuō)在白天晚些時(shí)候雪會(huì )停。say在這里意為"報道"，它常作由notice, letter, radio, newspaper等作主語(yǔ)的句子的（謂語(yǔ)）動(dòng)詞。如：The notice says there will be a football match tomorrow. 通知說(shuō)明天有場(chǎng)足球賽。What does the letter say? 信上寫(xiě)了些什么？
9. The radio says the cloud will lift quite quickly. 收音機說(shuō)云將很快散去。lift用作動(dòng)詞時(shí)有"（云、霧等）散開(kāi)；消散"之意；用作名詞時(shí)，lift意為"電梯"。如：The cloud lifts and the sun comes out. 烏云消散，太陽(yáng)出來(lái)。
